Planting at this
site was constrained by a booming local rabbit population therefore
a specific palette of plants was needed to discourage them from
deciding a banquet had been laid out. The client was willing
to wait for the planting to grow therefore large blocks of smaller
plants were utilised, including evergreen structural elements,
but also plenty of colourful herbaceous blocks. The area to
the right beneath a canopy of mature trees provided the ideal
space to simulate varied woodland planting using spring-flowering
shrubs and bulbs, as well as a wide spectrum of vivid autumn
colours.
